Bag Pack in Morrisons Store, Newark

Our first-ever bag packing day raised an amazing £1,548

Golf Day at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club.

June 2011

The recession and change of diary proved difficult for us, but 14 teams took part.

Despite the lower turnout, it was a fine day that most people seemed to enjoy!

The high quality raffle prizes generated a lot of interest with ticket sales of £560

Overall profit will be down on last year (around £1800...tbc) but that is

no reflection on the generosity of those players (old and new) that took part.

We hope to see as many as possible again in 2012

We travelled to support Jason Fletcher who completed

the One Mile Open Water event and raised £332 for the Appeal

as well as £127 for Kidney Research UK via their on-line page.

Golf Day at Newark Golf Club, Nottinghamshire.

We enjoyed the excellent hospitality of Newark Golf Club for a super

day that raised £2631

Our thanks to the Club Directors, the Captains, the catering staff,

the ground staff and everyone else that helped out.

Millionaire’s Night

Our first Fun Casino Night kindly organised by the Vale of Belvoir Lions

 Jill and Mick arranged to use Bottesford Village Hall, and

around 70 people enjoyed a great social evening with a magnificent

2-course buffet, bar and prize raffle.

Altogether this raised £1292

 Alison and John organised a stall and Tombola that raised £45  

at an unusually very quiet Bank Holiday weekend show.

A sell-out with 21 teams taking part.

 Our most successful Golf Day to date, which expects to make over £3000.        

The extra effort made to obtain some incredible raffle prizes paid off, with the ticket sales amounting to £865.

 Alison, John and friends organised a Tombola that raised £165.

A virtual sell-out with increased sponsorship, led to a profit of £2484.

 Despite a very windy  day, the players enjoyed a shotgun start round of golf and continued the  socialising afterwards with a two course meal and presentation of  prizes. There was a winner of the fourth prize Hole in One competition, gaining a set of tailor-made clubs, and supported  by donations from local companies and businesses, the raffle generated  £560.

 Chris and Richard organised a great evening (The Purple Ball) mainly to raise sponsorship for Richard’s entry for the London Marathon.

This also provided £1730 towards the Nottingham Appeal.

Gill was mad enouigh to complete her first abseil down the 160 foot high Tower Building

raising £320.  (The event raised over £7000 for Kidney Research UK)
